Gamification is a technology used in the tech field that adds game elements to website or mobile app environments.

One example is Starbucks, which rewards customers with points for their purchases and offers benefits based on their membership level. They also run limited-time frequency events, offering exclusive products as gifts, enhancing a sense of scarcity.

TikTok delivers short-form videos through simple user actions. By using low cognitive effort and addictive design, the app pulls users in, and these addictive elements have led to its nickname, “digital fentanyl.”

Nike provides badges based on the distance users run as part of their mission to encourage running. This gives users a sense of achievement and motivates them to break their records, driving user engagement.

There are numerous platforms and services that utilize gamification. The key is not just achieving simple goals but fostering greater satisfaction through interaction between the user and the digital environment.
