Saltcake Executive Director Youngri Kim gave a lecture on delivering optimal UX for users at the Seoul Market Access (SMA) program, hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Startup Hub to enhance the potential and capacity of promising overseas companies entering Seoul.
SMA held special significance as a field trip themed around the “Korean Market,” designed to provide various insights to global companies seeking entry into Korea.
In the lecture, Executive Director Kim emphasized that providing services in Korea requires consideration of factors such as commercial spaces, consumption, design strategies, and UI/UX. She highlighted the importance of expanding from UX to HCD (Human-Centered Design) in order to deliver broader experiences.
Covering topics ranging from the concept of UX, the global approach of major groups toward UX, to the history of UX in Korea, Kim stressed that successful business relies on user experience, particularly those rooted in human-centered design, as an essential foundation for healthy communication with customers.
After the lecture, she engaged in meaningful discussions with aspiring entrepreneurs from various countries who are aiming to enter the Korean market, sharing perspectives and future directions.
