ai usage policy
Creativity + Strategy · Human-Centered Design · Responsible Technology
At Saltcake, we view AI not as a mere tool, but as a strategic partner. Grounded in our human-centered philosophy and brand trust, we apply clear principles, verified processes, and accountable structures in every use of AI. This policy governs all of Saltcake’s projects, processes, and communications, and extends to our external partners, who are expected to share and uphold the same principles.
1. human-led strategy first
Strategic decisions remain in human hands
At Saltcake, human strategic thinking is always at the center. AI supports fast information processing and repetitive tasks, but interpretation, insight, decision-making, and execution are the responsibility of people. AI outputs are not conclusions in themselves—they are inputs for analysis, refinement, and contextualization by humans.
Operational Standards
Core tasks (consulting, brand strategy, content planning) require human-led brainstorming and decision-making.
AI outputs are never adopted “as is”—they undergo internal review and customization.
Generative AI results are treated as suggestions; final interpretation rests with the responsible practitioner.
2. context-aware use
AI must adapt to context, and we ensure it does
AI cannot provide universally consistent answers. Saltcake considers brand identity, client goals, and project environments when shaping AI use. If AI-based results conflict with brand values, they are restructured or discarded. This principle applies especially to global brands, sensitive issues, and identity-driven campaigns
Operational Standards
Avoid automation that does not align with brand strategy or objectives.
Apply AI selectively, guided by project direction and industry context.
Reassess and refine AI outputs depending on purpose and audience.
3. ethical creativity
AI-driven creativity must operate within ethical boundaries
AI can generate creative outputs, but they are not inherently ethical or socially acceptable. Saltcake ensures all AI-generated text, visuals, and messages are reviewed to prevent bias, distortion, or offense. We respect creators’ rights and avoid over-reliance on AI, using it as a starting point—while final creative results are always human-made
Operational Standards
All CX writing and copy outputs undergo ethical review.
Any outputs containing harmful, discriminatory, or biased content are immediately discarded.
AI-generated creative work must be refined by humans to avoid a “mechanical” feel.
4. transparent responsibility
AI use and generation methods are always disclosed
As AI use increases, transparency becomes essential. Saltcake clearly indicates if and how AI was used in any deliverable. AI-generated texts, images, reports, or designs include disclosure, and when necessary, details of generation and review are provided
Operational Standards
Explicitly state AI use and degree of human modification in outputs (e.g., “AI-assisted copywriting / Finalized by Saltcake UX team”).
Disclosure is mandatory in all external deliverables.
Upon client request, disclose generation methods, criteria, and reviewer information.
5. embedded privacy & brand safety
Data protection comes before AI; brand trust comes before technology
Saltcake never inputs sensitive client data, internal documents, or personal information into external AI systems. We safeguard brand tone, values, and aesthetics from being diluted by automation. AI outputs are always reviewed against brand guidelines for consistency and authenticity
Operational Standards
Never input personal data, contracts, or internal templates into external AI (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney).
Discard any AI outputs that violate brand tone, color systems, or messaging guidelines.
Brand expressions are finalized by humans, with AI limited to idea generation.
6. practical responsibility
Real responsibility lies with practitioners, not systems
Saltcake defines clear accountability for AI use. Roles, principles, and review structures ensure practitioners—not systems—are responsible for decisions. We focus on responsible use over frequent use. Every AI application is traceable to a person, decision, and approval.
Operational Standards
Separate and document roles: planner, creator, reviewer, and final approver.
Provide AI guidelines and checklists to empower practitioners’ judgment.
Outputs include disclosure and responsible reviewer information (e.g., “Final review by [Name]”).
7. visual representation of ai at Saltcake
Saltcake’s adoption of AI is not a matter of technology alone—it reflects an evolution in strategic thinking.

Application and Updates of the Policy
This AI Usage Policy was established on July 10, 2025, and is reviewed at least once a year in accordance with changes in AI technology, social standards, and legal regulations.
